Lego Ford Explorer: 380,000 Pieces

If you have young kids, you probably already know that Lego is now much more than simple square blocks of various colors. These days, our kids have so many options to exercise their construction ability, from the Empire State Building, to the USS Entreprise from Star Trek, and from the Millinennium Falcon of Star Wars to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft dear to Harry Potter. And if you have gone to one of the many Lego theme parks around the world with your kids, you also know that Lego constructions can be very impressive in size and number of blocks used.

This is the case of the Ford Explorer recently built from 380,000 Lego blocks at the auto maker's Chicago Assembly Plant. This unique Ford Explorer took close to 3 1/2 months, resulting in 2,500 hours of work to put together and will soon be on its way to Legoland Florida,

Talking about the new Lego theme park near Orlando, Legoland Florida General Manager Adrian Jones said: "We're less than a month from opening and the anticipation level is incredibly high. This is the only park of its kind in the world built exclusively for kids ages 2 to 12, and it will be a total departure from anything families with young children have seen before. It's a completely immersive experience, engaging kids' imaginations and their sense of adventure through interactive play."1

Unlike this non-functional work of art replica, all the Ford cars and trucks available at Montgomery Motors are made of metal and fiberglass. Come and visit us at 214 South Main Street, Troy, NC to take a test drive.
